Gestern wurde in Berlin, das Logo der Fifa WM 2010 in Südafrika vorgestellt. Entworfen wurde die Bildmarke von Gabriel da Abreu. Ein Jahr lang ging der Wettbewerb um das beste Logo. Das Logo zeigt einen schwarzen Spieler, der einen Fallrückzieher macht. Die Afrikaner verzichteten im Gegensatz zum Fifa WM2006 Logo – auf die „Happypeople-Stimmung“, die hier in Deutschland heftige Diskussionen auslösste. Albie Sachs, Vorsitzender des 6-köpfigen Entscheidungs-Gremiums sagte in einem Interview zum Logo: “We wanted a human being, we wanted the African continent.
